What is neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback is a form of brain training. Sensors read your brain’s electrical activity and that information is fed back to you in real time - with NeurOptimal® this happens through brief pauses in music. This feedback gives your brain information about itself, which it can use to self-organise.
Is it a medical treatment?
No. NeurOptimal® is a non-medical training system designed for general wellbeing and performance. It does not diagnose, treat or cure any condition. If you have a health concern, please speak with your GP or a qualified health professional - brain training can sit alongside, but never replaces, their care.
Does it hurt? Is anything put into my brain?
Not at all. The sensors only listen - nothing is sent into your brain. It’s completely non-invasive. Most people simply relax, listen to music or close their eyes.
What happens during a session?
Small sensors are placed on your scalp with a dab of paste, and clips go on your ears. You sit back in a comfortable chair and listen to music for around 33 minutes. That’s it - there’s nothing you have to do or “get right”.
How many sessions will I need?
Everyone is different. Some people notice a shift after a few sessions, while others prefer a longer run of training. Many people start with a block of around 10 sessions. Craig will talk through options with you at your first appointment.
Who can do brain training?
NeurOptimal® is suitable for a wide range of ages - from children to older adults. It’s used by students, professionals, athletes, creatives and anyone wanting to feel and perform at their best.
Do you come to me?
Yes. Sessions are available in our Wandi studio or as mobile sessions across the Perth metro area. Just let us know your suburb when you enquire.
How much does it cost?
A single studio session is $95, or $900 for a pack of 10. Mobile sessions are $95 plus a travel charge based on distance. After-hours, weekend and concession rates are on the Sessions page.
Is neurofeedback at Neurofeedback Perth covered by Medicare or private health funds?
Unfortunately, no. As this is classed as brain training for peak performance and not a medical clinic, Medicare and private health insurance rebates are unavailable.
